Yes Norton are rubbish. I have just downloaded another free one...'10bit advanced system care'...I have spent ages running all the security scans and things....I am still getting that message when I try to log in to somewhere though.

Everywhere else is OK though.

Try completely clearing you brower cache - could be cookie generated.

Norton is useless. Get rid of it and download Microsoft security essentials. it's free and the best anti-virus i've ever used.

Go into your "Tools" and go to "History. There you can delete all your cookies, your cache, your browsing history etc. Select what you want to delete and do it...

For Firefox:

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Options
Select the Advanced panel.
Click on the Network tab.
In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now

For IE:

Click the “Tools” menu bar.
Choose “Internet Options.”
On the “General” tab, click “Clear History.”
When it asks “Delete all items in your History folder?” and click “OK.”
Click “OK” again.

I have windows IE...I just deleted my cookies and browsing history.
Maybe that will help. Thanks for advice. Dean I have just deleted my Norton, it had almost run out anyway.
I will see how this new freebie works, if it's no good I will download that one you said.

You've not ticked one of the boxes in your control panel. Theres a box that lets you tick if you want an Email on every thread you've posted on, most likely you need to tick NO in that box

That will be your settings on here then. Go through your preferences on here carefully, and you'll find theres one you haven't ticked properly...

hide online status
allow pop ups to notify replies.

Then the last 3 are about signature..and BBC and HTML.. codes which I said yes to.

If thats correct, then your settings seem to be right. Have you tried opening one of the emails? It might give you the option to stop any further emails at the bottom of it...

If your cursor does freeze ... crash the puter and it will all load up just fine when you switch it back on.

Your puter is probably infected then.
You need to start in safe mode and if the curser ok there unplug the machine from online and run a deep virus scan.
