Re: Do You Know Your Personal Limits?
Yeah, I know when I've had enough. Like you I haven't been drunk for years and contrary to popular opinion elsewhere I don't over-eat either.
Mind you, when it comes to housework those coffee breaks come round very quickly

Agreed!
My partner says that he will never give up cigs and my grandfather smoked a pipe for years and lived into his 90's...Idiots are employed by government to tell us what is good for us and what is bad for us and that changes every other bloody week!

I don't drink, smoke or eat meat, mainly because each of those things makes me ill. Otherwise I was happy to push my limits until a few years ago when the limits pushed back and won.

What kind?? are you on insulin? I nearly went into a coma last year. I had a kidney infection from hell and for some reason that stopped me from producing insulin. Took three months for my body to sort itself out and start producing it again. I had no idea what complicated lives diabetics have, my fingertips looked like pincushions I was testing my blood sugar every time I ate anything, at least I now know what it means if I become ridiculously thirsty....jackb wrote:Just got told today I have diabetes.

Did you know your blood sugar rises to wake you up?? Eating sensibly should help, I think Abs and Hickey are both diabetic, and Hicks runs marathons

Are you overweight Jack? Many men of a certain age who develop diabetes can easilly control it if they lose a bit of weight and eat well.
I'm now down to fifteen which at nearly 6ft 3ins Isn't really fat.
I have always ate really good diet.

Good luck then, hope the tabs work. Strange thing is I always had low blood sugar, and had actually had a test a couple of months earlier which showed I had low blood sugar, then wham.. went sky high and must have stayed high. Obviously me helping it thinking it must be my low BS making me feel like crap so drinking juice and eating a biccy..jackb wrote:Type two and prescribed metformin tabs three times a day.

I was not a happy bunny doing the shots, although the complicated ones were just for a month, then one shot a day for two months.. Thank goodness it now seems fine and Im back to low blood sugar again.. but avoiding juice.

Re: Do You Know Your Personal Limits?
Alcohol lowers your blood sugar so be careful if you are taking pills to do the same..jackb wrote:I think I'll get pissed Friday night.
