13-Year-Old Girl Has Had the Hiccups for 10 Weeks

I was watching this on the news earlier, it must be awful for her, poor girl. I hope they manage to help her soon Sad

Mind you, I hope for her sake she hasn't read the last paragraph below the video! Shocked

ouch, I cant stand the hiccups for 10 minutes! Mind you I find an antacid helps

Do any of you have any tricks to stop hiccups?? My granma taught me to press my thumbnails together, it always works.

I was told drink from the BACK of the tumbler Dunno

sipping water slowly and I find an antacid helps

Asking someone to give you a fright! Obviously, it can't be done there and then if you've asked someone to do it, as you'd be ready for it... but because hiccups are usually caused by irritation/over-stimulation of the phrenic nerve, sometimes the sharp intake of breath from being startled is enough to correct them.
