From 1968. Shite but true pioneers,
Unknown to a lot of people the BBC were pioneers in electronic music and especially a woman called Delia Derbyshire who worked at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop in Maida vale.
She put together the now world famous Dr who Theme.
Read about her here ... http://www.delia-derbyshire.org/
and get a listen to an album called white noise by white noise ... she plays a major role in that album.
Heres some of her stuff from 67/68 ... way ahead of it's time.

Re: Electronic music/bands.
The quality of this for 1968 is hard to fathom.
8 track studios and not a lot of commercial electronics about yet these guys make the kind of quality that sounds like it's made now.
But this is Vangelis .... and Demis Rossoss before we ever heard of them.
The album 666 is a musical interpretation of the book of revelation from the Bible which is quite incredible in itself.
Good drugs back then.

Silver Koulouris plays brilliant guitar toward the end of this track.

Loud loud loud loud is the title but it has to be the most gentle track on the album ... double album.

The first time I heard the synth at the end of this I was high as a kite at a party.
Next day I had to go out and buy the album.
I think I wore this track out just so I could be lifted upto the heavens by the synth at the end.
Back then I had never heard a sound like it!
