Unnamed security sources have been quoted in US media as saying at least one of the bombs was placed inside a pressure cooker packed with ball bearings and nails. This has not been officially confirmed.

The marathon runners probably have very little to do with Boston, they usually come from all over the world and the id of the dead people reflects this.

The three deceased people were all from or living in/around the Boston area. scratch

None of them were runners in the marathon.

Meant to write injured, not dead. The runners came from all over, a large group from Hong Kong. Vitriol has been directed at Boston on some boards for their IRA fundraising activities but all the injured deserve sympathy. Like I said some came from outside of Boston anyway.

.....I'm not too sure whether this has anything to do with religious brainwashing....I think that it's more likely to be a couple of pissed off kids just annoyed at society for personal reasons...We have seen other disgruntled kids in the US killing their peers in schools etc...

....Time will tell what their reasons were for their despicable and murderous rampage.
