Its astounding how modern inventions can help people in every day life.
Wonder if they have thought of "Glow In The Dark " Toilet paper to go with it !! ( bet jacks got a good supply of it roflmao

As for using a Mobile phone to flush a toilet, is that before or after one washes their hands? Shocked

Thats rubbish....I dont think I have ever closed the lid before I flush....and I have never had the norovirus bug....nor has anyone in the house.

Actually my new loo is brill....the toilet lid and seat clips off completely for easy and thorough cleaning...so I imagine my loo is actually more germ free than most. snobby

Google it, there is a lot of information regarding the atomisation of water and germs when flushing a toilet with the lid up, it is agreed that the gap between the closed seat and pan still allows escapage but this is minimal.
The problem is that the atomisation can contaminate other items in the bathroom, i.e toothbrushes, towels etc .
Its basic common sense really.
Unfortunately Bathroom suites these days are designed for looks not practicality

Think about it practically....if you close the lid before you flush all the germs and God knows what else will be sprayed up and caught in the closed lid....the next time someone lifts the lid they will be getting all the trapped bacteria on their fingers.

Far better to flush with the lid open surely.....thats the way I and I am betting billions of other people use a loo....and we are stil here, norovirus free. thumbsup

Practically its the other way around, flushing the toilet with the lid down stops the atomisation of water and germs, the lid and seat can then be cleaned off using a standard disinfectant instead of spreading it around other bathroom objects which cannot be cleaned

My daughter has a habit of closing the lid sometimes too when she flushes, and that comes just as much of a shock as landing in the loo (as you put it) lol
