Yeah!.....I was sucked in by certain forums and i used to think that all Muslims were terrorists..In the end i questioned that view and educated myself by watching various intelligent documentaries on the subject etc..Then i realised that i was wrong and changed my opinion accordingly

I learn loads on forums about people and what they do think feel believe.
Tyts made me take a long hard look at myself regarding meat eating and cruelty to animals and I wasn't afraid to say so in front of everyone.
It really anoys me that people can't be big enough to say ... I didn't know that.

They teach me more about Real life.
Nowadays when somebody tells me something in R.L. I think about it first then think about a suitable answer or comment.
Then I smack 'em.

Forums have made me a lot more calm and patient in Real life.
Plus when I am posting I get to smoke a whole joint to myself.

I think most people have ideas which they have been brought up with, till they really work out why they think like that often we just carry on believing we are right....then again some news papers can reinforce certain views if that is their agenda.

There are some arguments that have made me think twice....abortion being one of them, and though my mind was not changed it certainly made me think.
I agree Jack that none of us know everything...in fact the older I get the less certain I am about a lot...and admitting you dont know something, but at least are willing to listen is a sign of strengh not weakness.

Thats not the point though...at least you have heard each others viewpoints so you can each look at it from a different angle, doesn't mean you have to agree though.

I think they have the opposite effect on some people....I have never met such nasty and volatile people in RL as I have on forums.

...I have an HP computer...My cursor freezes on occasion and there is a dot on the mouse and you have to tap it!

I think forums can be incredibly educational. Everyone has their own areas of knowledge that they can put across in debates, it's up to the other posters though whether they are prepared to accept what is said to them.

Some even refuse to accept facts when the evidence is presented to them though.
